M.O.N.D.A.Y. (Maybe Owl Never Develop A Yen)

It’s been over three weeks since I posted anything here.

Maybe no one else noticed, but it has been causing me some pretty gross anxiety and so I thought maybe if I make a pact with myself* to post something new every single day this week I can unblock the writer’s block that is plaguing me, of late.

I have lots to say. It’s the getting it out that has become an issue.

Here is a brief list of things I’d like to share with you.

  1. End of summer teeny road trip wrap-ups.
  2. Lost and found mysteries.
  3. Fun photos from around the Maritimes.
  4. Super Moon shenanigans.
  5. Cool local events coming up.
  6. Hot yoga perspectives.
  7. Back to school Thing news.
  8. Yummy recipe roundups.
  9. Return to Zumba high jinks.
  10. Guest blog post possibilities.**
  11. Friday Family Fun Night additions.
  12. Exciting movie news for families.
  13. After school special snacks.
  14. Happy-making organizing hacks.
  15. Meal planning mania.

So, what do you think? It’s worth a shot, no?

I am going to give it the old college try.***

*I’d try making a pact with the Devil, but Beelzebub often disguises himself as potato chips and well, we all know how that would end.

**I can’t make this stuff up. When I went to verify that, yes, in fact I *was* using the word “yen” correctly, (See? See how awful anxiety can be? Second guessing all the things that are typically old hat? Oh yeah! That’s a laugh and a half. NOT!), this is the definition that came up in my Apple “Dictionary”:

yen 2 |yeninformal noun [ in sing. ] a longing or yearning: [ with infinitive ] :  she always had a yen to be a writer. <– Really?!? Even my Mac Mini Mocks me. Ugh.

***Then I am going to change into my poodle skirt, sweater, scarf combo and celebrate with a malted at the soda shoppe! Gee whiz!

  1. Of all the things in life there is to get stressed out about— writing regular entries on a blog is not one of them. Each one of your entries is a gem- whenever I get the email notification it is a blissful moment. I love your list of 15 items- hot yoga- always a debatable topic. Besos- hugs

    • Heh heh! You’d think, huh? And yet … 😉

Thank you for your undying support and love! 😀 Besos back atcha!

      Hot yoga is HOT!!

      HOT I tells ya!

Meanwhile, *now* it’s Friday and I may or may not have rambled myself over the blog block!

  2. It’s all good. Most of the time I don’t post very often because I pressure myself into having beautiful pictures for all of my posts… all taken by me of course. That takes an inconsiderable amount of time. I actually have lots of things to write about, just no pictures to go with them… and it does cause me anxiety too! Arg! I mean, not posting and all and worrying about what others will say. You post ideas seem like fun ideas with entertaining titles! Should be fun!

    • Aww. Thank you for popping by and reading. I really appreciate that!

That self-inflicted pressure can be exhausting, can’t it? Yes, of course, you would have to provide/choose/edit your own photos. No cutting corners when we are making ourselves crazy. 😉

I am learning that I have to just write everyday. Here I am, on Friday, replying. At least I made it to Friday!

I’m going to just keep writing!

    • Thank you! Oh, I do. I just would like to broaden my horizons, you know what I mean?

I actually think it will. Plus the freedom of a silly title all week – just for me – is good for my heart and soul. (and now I want to listen to Huey Lewis & The News, but I digress …)

Anxiety is a real turkey! It’s okay though. I need to work harder so I can do better! It will all work out. Everything evens out in the wash. This too shall pass.

I am a motivational speaker string of clichés this week and that’s okay.

Because I am good enough. I’m smart enough. And gosh darn it! People like me. 😉 (I love Stuart Smalley)

      Love you, too!

  3. Oh, looks like you have a good list of topics coming out. I’ll look forward to those posts but in the meantime, sometimes taking a wee blogging break is just the remedy for writers block.

    • That’s the tip of the iceberg, really!

I think you are right. A break is good!

I do want to keep going though and maybe charge through this little bout of “the block”. 😀

Wish me luck! The silliness is helping!

    • We just might be! 😀

I think I have written my way out of blogger’s block. I put too much pressure on myself. It’s lame. I am not doing that anymore. (Okay, that’s unrealistic. JUMPINS! I am putting too much pressure on myself about not putting pressure on myself! I need help.) 😛

I have a lot of drafts. I should work my way through them.. and I will.. eventually.

      I like “incompletion”. Great word!

I’m glad you are wherever I am. 🙂 That feels nice.
