Monday Motivation Needs More Motivation 

Good morning!

Today I need a bit of an extra boost.

These days are a challenge for everyone, so I’m sharing!

Mini Eggs have 210 calories and 28g of  carbohydrates (not to mention 10g of fat, 6g of which are saturated!) for 42 grams, or about 17 eggs .

Hmm? Whassat? Oh, no. No reason. Just a random fact*.


I like to educate.

I do.

Okay! Okay!

Maaaayyyybe I found the hidden Mini Eggs. Maybe.

Who’s to say? It’s a mystery, really.

Anyway, before I do any more damage to my plans, and to circumvent any damage you might be about to do to yours, I thought I’d come and share these facts with you.

The truth hurts.

The truth shall set me free.

Contradiction. It’s a fact of life.

A life I’d like to keep living for a really long time.

Now excuse me while I take those seventeen Mini Eggs and disperse them between the Things’ Easter baskets. They won’t divide evenly and though that could drive me mad, I will not eat another stOOpid egg! One Thing will just have to get an extra egg. It all evens out in the wash, as they say.

Oh, and I have also sealed the bag and tossed it way up into the cupboard of sin that I can’t reach.

  1. Well, now I really REALLY a handful of mini-eggs. Thankfully we ate all the chocolate already. Oh wait, no we didn’t. I know where there is more hidden in the back of the cupboard. Oh god. Have mercy on my big fat soul…

    • It’s terrible! 17 Mini Eggs does not a handful make!

      I can cram *so* many more than that into my hand.

      It’d be impressive, if it wasn’t so mortifyingly embarrassing that I *know* this for a big fat fact.

      I swear I was trying to help.

      You know, it isn’t even mine, really.

      There are two. One blue trimmed. One red. They were Christmas gifts to the Things a few years ago.

      If I ever find them, I’ll be buying up all the stock and sending them far and wide to friends because lots of people like them.

      There *is* a speech bubble one available at Dollarama. It cute, but not quite the same.

      Do you know what else? There is a Lindt OUTLET about 10 minutes away from me. *drools*

      You are right. I don’t feel bad, so much as realize I need to make better choices.

      For now, I’ve gone right off Mini Eggs.

      You *do* make that Mega Egg sound appealing, though… 😀

    1. How did you get the “fringe” on your last picture? Love.
    2. Mini eggs have the word “egg” in them. Eggs are a member of a very important food group (which one I don’t know but go with me here). Therefore, mini eggs are healthy.

      1. The “fringe” is simply the “Kelvin” filter frame from Instagram. Voila! Thanks! It seemed fitting. It looks kinda burn-y, like my rage at the fact my jeans are too tight. StOOpid Mini Eggs!

  3. This is great. I love the chalkboard mug too. Funny, Eve told me about the 17-egg serving just yesterday – she was pretty impressed with the serving size, especially since she was only eating two. I actually don’t LIKE mini-eggs, which seems to make me an anomaly, but there are enough other minefields strewn around here that that doesn’t help my Whateverday Motivation AT ALL.

    • Thank you! That mug (and its partner) have gotten so much use since their arrival at Chez Peady. I honestly do wish I had stockpiled them because I would be sending so many to so many nice people!

      17 Eggs is a perfectly reasonable amount. Honestly, the Mini Eggs are not to blame. It’s my own foolishness!

      If ever there was a food where mindless, self-medicating behaviour could take over, Mini Eggs would come a close second only to the ultimate evil, that is chiptonite. 😉

      I’ve been blaming winter. Winter was a fabulous excuse for a great long time, but now, with each new, soggy, patch of grass that is exposed (and given that it’s mid-April!) it is becoming apparent that winter will no longer be my best *reason* for not doing something good for myself. StOOpid logic!

  4. This reminds me of when I discovered the calorie count of gummy bears, and how few you have to consume to, um, go overboard. Because who eats one gummy bear?

    • I mean, really!! Right? No one. That’s who!

      Okay, maybe there is one very, very, sick individual who can eat a single, solitary, gummy bear, but come on! They were designed to eat by the handful just like chiptonite!

  5. You know what? After Easter passed I was all like, where are the dang mini eggs? There was not one to be seen in this house! Ah well we had too much chocolate and sweets anyway. Have to start a whole new diet.

    And you know someday I will come for that mug!

    • On the day in question I took the bag, sealed it, and biffed it way up and back into the “cupboard of sin” and haven’t bought about it once until your comment. 🙂

      But! I just can’t go there. They are irresistible and I am weak.

      No new diets. To heck with that! Just keep moving forward. Honest to goodness! Do what you know works. Drink more water. Eat lots of green stuff. (Green Gummy Bears do not count!) Go outside and play.

      It’s all a part of the journey.

      If I could send you a mug, I would. 😀
