Spidey Senses

My Spidey Senses are always tingling and I rely on my intuition a lot.

Sounds crazy, but there you have it.

Sometimes I just know stuff. I say it to people. They take it or leave it. That’s fine.

I, however, always take it seriously. If and when I ignore my little voice – as we all have our own lives to live and mistakes to make – it always comes back to haunt me in one way or another.

I was thinking about mistakes I have made in the past and inevitably that is exactly what happened. I wish I was the kind of blogger that could spill it here for all the world to see, but no, because it just isn’t my style. I can’t go against my own manifesto now can I? Plus, as anyone who knows anything knows – that would definitely come back to haunt me!

We all must listen to our own little voice. Mine might be different than yours and that is okay. Yours might tell you to go a completely different way than me and that is okay.

So, in keeping with the Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man theme I give you this most eloquent quote from Peter’s Uncle Ben.

With great power comes great responsibility.

STOP Signs

Canada_Stop_sign.svg_
So it’s about 3 PM and I have pretty much consumed a day’s worth of food.

I don’t really even know what happened or why, but there you have it.

Now I have to figure out how the heck to make a burrito for my dinner (It’s burrito night, don’t you know?) and somehow not go completely off the rails while doing it.

I won’t be derailed. I can’t be. Staying railed is crucial to my health and happiness. I need to follow through.

One bad choice cannot be the end of a good pattern. I can’t take it back, but I sure as heck can acknowledge it, stop my crazy train, and redirect it, right?

Going off the rails in a crazy train is not a part of my plan. It’s hard enough to keep this crazy train chugging along. Can you imagine the weight of lifting a whole train filled with crazy back onto the track!! It’s unbearable.

Not going to do it.

So now what?

Well for starters, I’ll be drinking a metric boatload of water.

Wash away the sins of the world. Yeah, I have magical water apparently.

I will also go for a walk tonight. I tried this morning, but it just wasn’t the right time and really 175 things were irritating me all at the same time, so after 15 minutes I stopped and went home. Sad, but true.

I will have a smoothie for breakfast tomorrow. A good start leads to a better day.

I will forgive myself right this minute for a bad day.

STOP!

It’s over.

Move on.

The kids will be home soon and I will not waste a second on beating myself up. Nope. Nope nope.

Do you listen to your stop signs?

Do you occasionally miss one and crash?

Any advice? For me or anyone reading?

Thursday needs a kick in the pants!

And so do I!

Butt Kick. Swift.

You might be surprised how often Calvin & Hobbes could be credited with giving me the best life advice and spiritual guidance.

Remember way back* in the beginning of this blog how I swore I’d be better. I’d be kinder to myself and I would improve my life in as many ways as possible, not the least of which being my fitness level and over all health? Mmm hmm.

Easier said than done**.

My feet have been rather stOOpid*** of late and that has made walking difficult – forget any attempt at a C25k program which I really, really want to do. I have decent shoes, I have orthotics, I am really good about remembering to stretch before starting my day. Despite my best efforts and plans, my left foot is being a complete and utter jerk. It hurts. A lot.

So much so, that I have not walked, for fitness sake, with my NS BFF all week. Not good.

But that’s no biggie, you might be thinking, there are LOTS of things you can do for exercise without your feet.

It’s true. There are.

Have I been doing those things? No. No I haven’t.

I have been having a bit of a pity party. “Pity? Party of one?” *raises hand* Ugh.

It happens. It’s okay. I’m over it. It’s time to kick into gear.

Thank goodness I have friends who support and love me – just the way I am.

Thank goodness I have a husband who loves me, laughs at my jokes, tolerates the awful puns and always makes me feel like I can do whatever I want (even when I am not so sure).

Thank goodness both of the above have wicked awesome senses of humour and willingly share their own “funny ha ha” as often as possible.

Guess what’s for dinner tonight at Chez Peady!

Not even kidding.

Oh, and don’t worry, I promise you I’ll “earn” mine.
